The elegant town of Beaumaris (8 miles) as well as being the setting for a splendid castle built by Edward I and the excellent Museum of Childhood is the place to head for puffin and seal watching cruises – one of the highlights of a holiday on Anglesey. Golf riding and walking are all enjoyed locally and Snowdonia with its wealth of outdoor activities is easily accessible.
